Q) I'm looking at starting to up my car audio, and I was checking out some speakers. Would Alpine Type-S speakers be a good buy at 99.99? If not, what other car speakers are good, my friends all say Pioneer is nice for subs and Kenwood is good for amps.

A) The Alpine Type-S subwoofers are actually a good buy for the money. I have installed a number of these in different vehicles and, when paired with a good amplifier, they actually hit really hard. I would recommend against the Kenwood amplifier idea though. I have seen a number of Kenwood amplifiers running subwoofers develop problems after just a short period of time. I find some of the better subwoofer amplifiers are: Memphis Audio, Kicker, JL Audio, and Alpine.

Has anyone ever owned these Alpine speakers? Im looking to buy them, an was wondering how they sound.?

A) Alpine speakers are good in general. But does it really matter? 280 watts of power in a car will distort any speaker system. The car itself rattles, causing distortion. You will be tone deaf in a year or so. I suggest you get the cheapest speakers available and spend the money on a hearing aid.

I've seen people with Alpine speaker decals on their cars. Do you get the decal if you buy the speakers?

A) Yes, this way you can advertise to have someone steal your stuff. Decals are stupid.

All Alpine; Head Unit, Speakers, Subs, Amp. What Should I get?

Q) I want to replace the factory system in a 2003 Honda Accord. I would like to keep it all Alpine, Unless thats a bad idea. What Head Unit, Speakers, Subs, and Amp should i get. Get the price on the MEdium to Low side. I do not know any thing about car audio so please explain.

A) I would go with a HU that had 3 RCA outputs and the features you wanted. Type S components up front, type S coaxial in the back, A type R 10 or 12 and amplifiers that suit them.

I have 2 6" x 8"pioneer speakers in my front and 2 6" x 9" alpine speakers in the back, i'm looking to...

Q) ...install a 12" rockford sub as well but I do not know what kind of amp I should get...?

A) How many amps is the sub? You'd be surprised you don't need a whole lot of power to get a good sound out of a sub. I have a 1000w sub powering 2 750w 10" subs. Gives me enough base and then some. Just make sure it's enough to run the rms and other than that it's up to you! G'luck!

What are the best speakers for an Alpine CDM-9801?

Q) I have a Ford Ranger that I have recently installed an Alpine CDM-9801 45Wx4 head unit. Now I want to replace the factory speakers but no one agrees on what the best speakers would be in terms of RMS wattage and sensitivity.

A) Alpine also have good ones

do alpine, the speaker company, make a set of 2 12 inch speakers in a clear Plexiglas box?

Has anyone ever owned The Alpine SPR-13C 5-1/4 Speakers, Wondering the quality of them an bass response....?

A) you will enjoy them, they have good response and nice clarity, but distrot slightly on higher volumes, I guess all speakers do that to an extent.

A) Alpine's R and X series really are quite nice. There are better choices for the money though. However, some may require more attention to detail during installation and may not be as n00bie-friendly as the Alpine models. Don't waste your money or install-time on models below the Type R.

Why is alpine type x speakers rms lower than type r? Why is type x more expensive? what is better about type x

A) the sound quality. Power is cheap. Sound quality is what adds the price.
